Web to App
How to Make Any Website Into an App
These days, so many websites are optimized to fit nicely on the screen of your phone they can literally be used as if they were an app. The only thing missing is that convenient icon on your phone to launch it as an app. Luckily, there is a simple way to add it to your phone. Icon and all.
Note, these are the instructions for adding a website to an iPhone as an app. Instructions for Android to come. Check out our updates page and our Instagram and Facebook accounts for more information and updates.
For our example, we will be using StitchWeldCalc.com of course. However, you can use these instructions for any website you like.
1. Open the Website
Open Safari and then type in the name of the website you want in the search bar.
2. Get to App Set Up
Once you are looking at the website you want, click on the 'share' button near the bottom of your screen.
Note, the share button is the button in the red circle as shown in the picture below.
Once you click on the share button you should see a screen similar to the following.
Click on 'Add to Home Screen'. Note, you may have to scroll down to find it.
3. Finish Setting Up the App
In this step you finish setting up the app and add it to your iPhone screen where it will be just like a regular iPhone app.
After clicking on the 'Add to Home Screen' button in the previous step you should see a screen like the following.
Here you can change the name to whatever you want. We will simply change the name to 'Stitch Weld Calc'.
Whether you named it something else, or left it because you were fine with the way it was, the next step is very simple.
That's it! It's really that simple. If you have done it correctly you should be able to see it added to your home screen.
We hope this information has been helpful and valuable to you in any way! Please let us know if you found this information useful whether you are adding our website to your homepage, or literally any other website out there. We would love to hear from you at email@example.com.
